Motoko Tokoro, president of Tokoro Violin School, graduated from Kunitachi College of Music. Motoko was a member of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra for two years, before she moved to the US and graduated from the University of Southern California. There she earned a Master of Music – performance. While she was in the US, she studied at a summer intensive course organized by the Chicago Civic Symphony, and also studied at the LA philharmonic Institute. She also participated in American International Music Study. She was a member of Japan American Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, and Pasadena Symphony Orchestra as well. After returning to Japan, Motoko has performed as a solo violinist and as a guest player with various orchestras. She has also worked as a studio musician for local recording artists. Motoko has taught young students for many years, and is currently teaching at the music department of St. Maul International for private lessons.
